Titans odds to win the division, Super Bowl after busy free agency
Denny Simmons / The Tennessean-USA TODAY NETWORK

The Tennessee Titans front office has been busy over the last few weeks. Tennessee has been one of the NFL’s more active teams when it comes to free agency, the trade market, and adding talent for the 2024 season.

Between Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard, Lloyd Cushenberry, L’Jarius Sneed, and many other impact players, the Titans have improved over the last few weeks. That’s not up for debate.

But how much do the recent acquisitions change the outlook for Tennessee in 2024? According to the betting odds on BetMGM.com, not a whole lot.

On BetMGM.com, the Titans are currently serious underdogs to win the AFC South. Tennessee is +800 to be division champions. The Texans are the favorites, listed at +160, while the Jaguars (+220) and Colts (+260) are not far behind.

Is the gap between the Titans and the other teams in the division truly that large? I’ll let you be the judge of that.

But it doesn’t stop there. The Titans have also been given the longest odds to win the AFC at +8000.

The New England Patriots (+6600), Denver Broncos (+5000), and Las Vegas Raiders (+4000) are all considered better teams than Tennessee in the eyes of the sportsbooks right now.

The Titans have a lot of really exciting talent. Jeffery Simmons, DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, L’Jarius Sneed, and more. They have a young quarterback with upside playing on a rookie contract and the seventh overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft still to come. Is that really the worst team in the AFC and one of the worst teams in the NFL? Perhaps it’s too early to say, but the Titans certainly have a long way to go before they’re contenders in this league.
