Brad Keselowski says ‘a lot more steps’ before new NASCAR charter agreement is finalized

NASCAR has the new $7.7 billion TV deal signed, and now, team owners like Brad Keselowski are hoping for a charter agreement to be finalized soon. As of right now, there isn’t an agreement between NASCAR and its 36 chartered teams as to what the future looks like in 2025 and beyond.

Part of that agreement will include how the teams split the new TV revenue with NASCAR itself. Brad Keselowski and other team owners rely on that money to operate year to year. To keep NASCAR healthy, teams need to be able to compete, plain and simple.

PRN’s Garage Pass spoke with Keselowski about the TV deal and the money side of things. According to the RFK Racing co-owner, things are still up in the air.

“Yeah I mean that’s to be determined,” said Keselowski. “You know, there’s a lot more steps to go and those will hopefully play out in the next 30 to 60 days, but I think we’ll have to get in the room and we’ll get out our arm wrestling mat and we’ll figure it out. But I think we can figure it out.”

Brad Keselowski and the other owners have been working to get a fair deal. The charters are very important to the current way teams function. Then again, NASCAR needs to look to see what can make the sport better and create more competition and interest in the product they put on the track.

Something will have to give.

Brad Keselowski hoping for a win in 2024

RFK Racing had a really good year in 2023. Chris Buescher and Brad Keselowski made the playoffs and had decent runs. Keselowski is still in search of that elusive win, though. His last victory came back in the 2021 season at Talladega.

The Next Gen car has been a challenge for the 2012 Cup Series champion. However, there is hope in the 2024 season. Keselowski showed a ton of improvement, finishing 8th on the season. He was also able to put himself in winning positions.

Eventually, if you are in those positions to win enough times, you will end up coming away with one. At least, that’s the general take on it. I feel that 2024 is the year we see Keselowski back in Victory Lane.

Where do you think Brad Keselowski picks up his next win? Or will he go winless again?
