Brad Keselowski isn’t ‘paying any attention’ to his 101-race winless streak

It has now been 101 races straight without a Brad Keselowski victory. For many NASCAR drivers, that would be alarming, but Keselowski is staying cool. He wants to win, but he wants to earn it.

Last year was positive for RFK Racing. They had a real breakout season with both Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher making the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Playoffs. Buescher won three races in five weeks to close out the regular season.

Still, 101 races total and 75 races since being at RFK Racing, and Keselowski hasn’t had a checkered flag. To his credit, the driver-owner is maintaining calm. He knows he has speed and if he keeps it up, he will find himself in Victory Lane.

“I’m not paying any attention to it, to be honest,” Keselowski said, via Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. “What matters to me? I would rather be fast every week and contending for wins than fall a---backwards into a race win and say, ‘Oh, the streak is over.'”

Keselowski wants to run up front and earn it the right way.

“I want to be fast, I want to be contending. I want to be in the hunt.”

For now, Brad Keselowski is going to continue to show up every week and put a fast car out on the track. He slipped up a bit at Atlanta but made the most of his day as a veteran driver should.

Multiple DNFs this season for RFK Racing have put both Chris Buescher and Brad Keselowski in an early points hole. Keselowski made the postseason on points last year, but can he do that again if he doesn’t win a race?

Through three races, Buescher is 23rd in points with 50 and Keselowski sits at 28th with 40 points total. They aren’t the only NASCAR Playoff drivers from 2023 to have a shaky beginning to the season.

Joey Logano is 24th in points, Michael McDowell 22nd, and Christopher Bell 21st. All five of these drivers expect to make the playoffs every year, but right now they have to be a little worried. Even if they don’t admit it.

There is a lot of talent in the Cup Series right now. The new Ford and Toyota bodies have shown flashes of success this season. Spire Motorsports and Legacy Motor Club have both improved. Front Row Motorsports is now a Penske allied team and a key partner with Ford.

So, with that in mind, Brad Keselowski doesn’t have time to figure things out. It’s been 101 races at this point, and there are a lot of other drivers and teams out there who have what it takes to win a race or two.
