'The most painful loss of my life,' 16-year-old Mirra Andreeva talks about the feeling of a crushing defeat with unimaginable poise after beating her idol Ons Jabeur 

This is what the 16-year-old Mirra Andreeva said to the AO Press:

Honestly, after I lost the final, I was just super upset. I didn't think about anything else. For maybe a week I was just replaying the match in my head, It's not the most painful loss of my life. I will have, I'm sure, a lot of offensive matches where I may be late in the score, and then I lose.

She recalled her experience at the girl’s finals during an interview. After fighting hard, the Russian replayed the same game in her head repeatedly. Knowing it would not be her first painful match, she capitalized on her opportunity to play at the Rod Laver Arena again. The future remains bright for Andreeva.

Mirra Andreeva was elated after beating her idol Ons Jabeur in a very short second-round match 

Young Russian sensation Miraa Andreeva continues her dream run at the Australian Open 2024, sending back her idol Ons Jabeur in under an hour.

Playing against a top 10 player, the Russian maintained her calm and believed in her shots to see her across the line and through to the next round at the Australian Open. After the match, the Russian showed extreme sportsmanship by praising her idol. 

Furthermore, the Russian revealed that Jabuer made her day by wishing her luck after the game. It was a historic moment for the youngster as she got her name onto the books for being the youngest player to win a set 6-0 against a top-10 player.

With a lot more to come, the youngster is still up to face a few more high-level players to get to the top. With the draw more open than ever, almost everyone is aiming for the title after the first major upset of the year.
