Jeff Gordon flying out to Super Bowl in Las Vegas to cheer on San Francisco 49ers

It feels like everyone has something to cheer for this year in the Super Bowl. You have a coastal team against a team from the middle of the country, there are the commercials of course, and Taylor Swift! Everyone can sit back and enjoy the show this year.

For Jeff Gordon, the only thing that matters is watching his team win the championship. He makes a good point about 1994, that was a good year for Gordon. That year, Gordon won the Coca-Cola 600 and the Brickyard 400. He would go on to finish 8th in the points before marching his way to his first ever championship in 1995.

1994 was a pretty good year for the Niners, let’s see if they can get it done 30 years later.

Jeff Gordon watching the 24 car rise to prominence again

After Jeff Gordon left the Cup Series, the 24 car was in a strange place. Hendrick Motorsports tried a couple of drivers in the car, including Chase Elliott for a time. Things just didn’t really feel right for a few seasons.

Then, it fell into William Byron’s hands. A young driver with an iRacing background, it felt like another miss at first. Over the years since then, Byron has turned himself into a real championship contender.

This past year, the 24 car and Byron found Victory Lane six times. It was a dominant season that felt like it would culimmiate in a championship for Byron. However, it did not. He would finish 3rd overall, though. Every year since 2020, Byron has improved his place in the standings.

Now, going into the season after his breakthrough, Byron will try and make the 24 car a champion again. Just as his boss, Jeff Gordon did on four different occasions. While next week is the biggest race of the NSACAR season, Gordon is going to take int he final game of the NFL season in person. Then, it’s back to work for 2024.
