Perhaps the biggest complaint about Twitter after it came under the control of Elon Musk was how easy it became to fake accounts and make them look official.
Well, there's no time where that flaw is more evident than this time of year. From Missouri fans copying the look of Arkansas reporters to put out fake reports to now a TCU account targeting SMU fans, these trolls are looking to take advantage of people scrolling mindlessly through their phones in too much of a hurry to notice the finer details.
That's why the fake Stone post on the first day of the transfer portal has gained minor attention. To be clear, this isn't true. Stone will be on the sideline Saturday as a pseudo-coach helping Kevin Jennings try to lead the Mustangs to an AAC championship win over Tulane before continuing rehab in preparation for SMU's first season as a Power Four team.

While some accounts are more difficult to spot than others, this one simply requires curious readers to not be lazy. The slightest eye shift to the right of the account name reveals the Twitter handle as @CheezItChampTCU.
It's all part of a fun prank presumably by a rival that will soon come to an end, although, it could just as well be an SMU student framing the Horned Frogs. Either way, it's not true.
