He is risen.
Christians all over the world rejoice in those three words next weekend on Easter Sunday as they celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus. But not just Christians, even some race cars acknowledge the religious reality of Easter.
Tonight’s race at Darlington, South Carolina is the last race for two weeks as NASCAR takes next weekend off for Easter. No other professional sport, that I know of, pauses their regular season specifically to recognize Easter.
NASCAR already honors Christians with a weekly pre-race prayer in Jesus’ name. The invocation prayer combined with the Easter observance makes NASCAR the most Christian friendly major American sport. We salute NASCAR for their recognition that this is traditionally and historically a Christ-centered nation.
So enjoy the race this weekend and celebrate the resurrection next weekend.
He is risen indeed.
